FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

What is Murano glass?

Some items in our collection are authentic vintage Murano glass — mouth-blown and hand-crafted on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, using techniques passed down through generations. This is always clearly specified in the individual product listing. Not all items in our store are Murano glass.

About our items

Our collection features genuine vintage lighting pieces of various origins, styles, and makers. The material, origin, and any relevant details are specified in each product listing. Each vintage item has its own character — no two are exactly alike.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally. Shipping times and costs vary by destination — please check at checkout for details specific to your location.

Customs & Import Duties

International orders may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Please check with your local customs authority before purchasing if you have concerns.

How are items packaged?

We pack all items using a combination of new and recycled materials, always prioritising maximum protection for fragile vintage glass. Our goal is the safest package possible while being mindful of environmental impact.

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Please refer to our Returns & Refunds page for full details. Given the vintage and fragile nature of our items, we encourage you to read product descriptions carefully and contact us with any questions before purchasing.

Vintage condition — signs of wear

All items are vintage and may show normal signs of age and use, particularly on metal parts (patina, minor scratches, oxidation). We highlight visible defects in descriptions and images, but due to the nature of vintage items and photography limitations, not all imperfections may be visible. By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept the vintage nature of the items.

Images & Colour Disclaimer

Colours may vary due to photography conditions, screen calibration, and the nature of glass. Each piece is unique and slight variations from images are to be expected.

Is it compatible in my country?

Our lighting is designed to EU standards (220V) but also works with 110V systems. Table lamps come with EU plugs; most other lamps are hardwired. Bulb types (E27, E14, halogen) are listed per product. Rewiring is available on request for some items. Contact us for any doubts before purchasing.

CE Marking & Safety Certification

Our items are vintage and predate modern CE marking requirements and contemporary electrical safety certification standards. They are sold as vintage collectible lighting pieces, not as certified new electrical appliances. We recommend having any item inspected and, if necessary, rewired by a qualified electrician before use.

Age of Items & Wiring

As vintage items, some pieces may contain older wiring insulation or components that do not meet current electrical safety standards. Professional inspection by a qualified electrician is strongly recommended before installation and use. We accept no liability for issues arising from the age or condition of internal electrical components.

Installation

All electrical lighting must be installed by a qualified professional electrician. We do not recommend or accept liability for self-installation, damage, injury, or fire resulting from improper installation, misuse, or use of non-compatible bulbs or fittings. Please ensure installation complies with the electrical regulations in your country.

Does the lighting work?

All items are tested by us prior to listing — images show lamps on and off as proof. However, we cannot guarantee functioning after shipping, handling, or installation. Vintage components may require professional servicing. This disclaimer does not affect your statutory rights.
