Choosing a vintage lamp online is not easy. You have to imagine how a 1970s Murano pendant will look above your table, or whether a pair of sconces suits your hallway. So on every product page you will find See it in your room: add a photo of your room and place the lamp in it, right in your browser.
How it works
- Open any lamp and tap See it in your room, just under “Have a question about this piece?”.
- Take a photo of your room, or choose one from your gallery.
- The lamp appears straight away. Drag it where you would like it and use the slider, or pinch on a phone, to make it bigger or smaller. You can also flip it or pick another photo of the lamp.
- Save the picture or share it, to show your partner, your interior designer or a friend.
Your photo stays with you
Everything happens on your own device. Your room photo is never uploaded, stored or seen by us.
Good to know
- The background of the lamp photo is removed automatically on your device. This can take up to a minute, especially on phones, and you can place the lamp in the meantime.
- The result is a guide, not a photograph: there are no real shadows or light, and the size is set by eye. Every product page lists the real dimensions, so please measure your space to be sure.
- Very fine chains, or clear glass on a light background, can lose a little detail when the background is removed. If that happens, switch to “Original background”.
Tips for a good result
- Take the photo straight on, at eye level, in daylight.
- Include something whose size you know, like a table, a sofa or a door, to judge the scale.
- For pendants and chandeliers, include the ceiling in the photo.
